Apple is building a new artificial intelligence system that it hopes will be more useful for Siri and other smart assistant services than the company’s existing system.
The new AI system, which is still in development, will allow Apple to make smarter decisions and better decisions on its own, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Apple is working with AI pioneer DeepMind, which has a lot of experience with building intelligent systems.
DeepMind is a subsidiary of Alphabet, Google’s parent company, which also owns Google, which sells a lot or AI products.
Deepmind’s AI system will allow Siri to do more than just tell you how to do something, the Journal reported.
Siri can also do more complex things like understand how you feel.
Apple also plans to use this AI system for its own Siri assistant, The Journal reported, but Apple hasn’t said anything about when that system will be released or if it will have an artificial intelligence component.
Siri has been the subject of rumors for years.
Last year, Google announced that it would build its own AI system that would give Siri the ability to understand human speech and do more.
Earlier this year, a Google employee told The Wall St Journal that the company was developing its own artificial intelligence program.
Apple hasn´t released a formal AI plan, but reports suggest that it is likely building its own software that will make Siri smarter.
In addition to its Siri and Siri Assistant, Apple has plans to develop an AI system called Airdrop.
Apple could also use this system to make Siri and the other voice assistants more personal, The Wall Streets Journal reported last year.
