The film will be produced by China-based producer Tengwei Productions and will be directed by Tengwen Huang.
The story revolves around a Chinese artificial intelligence startup called Tengwan, which has developed a robotic tool that can scan and process photos, and then turn the photos into a series of animated gifs, which the user can then play with.
The movie will be released this fall.
The first version of the movie was filmed last year, and the second version will be out later this year, the release notes say.
Huang is known for his work on the animated feature film The Legend of Zorro.
In the movie, Zorros robot, The Ghost, was sent to avenge a family tragedy by killing a man who was accused of murdering his wife and children.
The Ghost was a success, but after the Ghost was stolen, Zoranros son, The Great, stole it from him and destroyed the machine.
